Downlight Installation and Induction Hob Connection

Summary
Modern Light-Emitting Diode (LED ) downlights installed across an open plan area along with a safe, dedicated circuit for a new induction hob. The project improved energy efficiency, lighting quality and appliance safety, followed by full testing and documentation.
Overview
A Redhill homeowner recently contacted us while renovating their kitchen and adjoining living space. They wanted to modernise the lighting, improve energy efficiency and upgrade their cooking appliances. After reviewing the plans, we recommended a full downlight installation across the main living areas along with a safe and compliant induction hob installation in the new kitchen layout.
The client’s priority was to create a clean, contemporary look while ensuring that all electrical work met current regulations. Our team handled the project from assessment to final testing and certification.
Project Scope and Services Delivered
-
Downlight Installation
The client wanted to replace their older ceiling fittings with a uniform set of recessed LED downlights. We began with a detailed inspection of the ceiling voids to confirm suitable spacing and wiring routes. After agreeing on the lighting design, our electricians installed new cabling and fire rated LED downlights throughout the open plan area.
The upgrade provided brighter illumination, reduced energy consumption and created a more streamlined finish. We also installed dimmer controls to give the homeowner flexibility with lighting levels for different times of day.
-
Induction Hob Installation
The kitchen renovation included replacing a dated electric hob. For the induction hob installation, we assessed the electrical load requirements and installed a dedicated circuit to ensure the new appliance operated safely and efficiently. We upgraded and tested the circuit protection, connected the induction hob according to manufacturer guidelines and verified that the system complied with all relevant safety standards.
During the installation we kept the client informed, especially when discussing power requirements and the importance of using a dedicated supply for high demand appliances.
-
Testing, Inspection and Sign-Off
Once the downlight and induction hob installations were complete, we carried out full testing across the entire circuit upgrade. This included verifying connections, load capacity, insulation resistance and RCD performance. The client received documentation for their records along with guidance on using and maintaining the new systems.
Project Outcome
The finished project delivered exactly what the homeowner envisioned: a brighter, more modern living area and a high-performance kitchen setup. The new lighting dramatically improved the overall atmosphere of the space while the induction hob provided faster, more controlled cooking.
The client appreciated the clear communication and the emphasis on safety and compliance throughout the project. They now have a fully updated system that not only looks great but also meets all current electrical standards.
